Michelin is continuing to profile the work of some of the leading contenders for its annual Michelin Challenge Design competition, which asks the design community to come up with proposals for "America's Next Iconic Vehicle". All 11 of the scale models and 24 two-dimensional drawings in the running will be exhibited at the 2009 NAIAS in January. Earlier this month, we featured three of these scale models following their selection by a jury of top automotive designers.

Kia is hunting down buyers of the C3 Picasso, Meriva and Meriva with this new mini-MPV concept car. Although no name has been released yet, the internal codename for the production car is Kia YN. This concept will translate into production with precious few changes.
Volkswagen AG has agreed to pay maintenance costs under a proposed settlement in a class-action lawsuit over sludge-damaged engines in 479,768 VW and Audi models. Judge Joseph Tauro of the U.S. District Court in Boston gave conditional approval of the settlement last week.
